Don’t let winter stop you from getting out and about, there are lots of things to see and do in our region. Click the links below to find out what's on this fortnight in the Yarra Valley & Dandenong Ranges. 

 

Check out Healesville Sanctuary during these winter school holidays from Saturday 24 June - Friday 7 July for fantastic kid-friendly activities. There's lots to do including two new presentations ‘What’s up The Creek’ and ‘Let’s Talk Frogs’. Find them in Healesville. 
 
Calling all truffle lovers! Join Balgownie Estate in Yarra Glen on Thursday 29 June for an unforgettable truffle night and indulge in a lux 7-course culinary experience curated by Executive Chef, Aidan Gallagher. 

 

Get creative on Friday 30 June (and other dates throughout July and August) at bizu studio in St Andrews. Join a one-on-one glass bead and jewellery workshop where you will experience the magic behind creating stunning glass beads and jewellery. 

 

Mad about markets? Check out Yarra Glen Racecourse Market in Yarra Glen and Hurstbridge Market in Hurstbridge. Both of these markets are on Sunday 2 July and offer a fantastic family day out.

 

For the month of July, treat yourself to a high tea for two at Grants on Sherbrooke in Kallista. In the spirit of NAIDOC Week, Grants on Sherbrooke is also hosting an intimate evening with Uncle Murrundindi on Monday 3 July.

Fantastic Places to Eat and Drink

Our region is home to so many great places to eat and drink. Add some of these places to your Yarra Valley & Dandenong Ranges itinerary and enjoy a culinary feast and divine drinks. 

 

Launching Place Home Hotel offers a casual bistro dining experience for the whole family. This historic pub in Launching Place is the perfect place to enjoy quality food and drinks after a walk along the adjacent Lilydale to Warburton Rail Trail and Yarra River. 

 

In the leafy suburb of Eltham, make sure you check out Naught Distilling. This cocktail bar offers an elegant experience transporting you to the decadent 1920s with their classic speakeasy-style bar and onsite distillery.

 

Get a taste of authentic local hospitality at Paradise Valley Hotel in Clematis. Grab a drink and a menu, and observe Puffing Billy chugging past from the deck overlooking the beer garden during your meal.  

 

Visit Punch Wine Room in St Andrews for the ultimate cellar door experience. Enjoy wines paired with food from one of the wonderful Punch neighbours, including wood-fired pizza and cheese platters.
